It started with Murphy…

It all began with a black Labrador puppy, born in October 2016, who we named Murphy. He has always been a bundle of fun and energy. He taught me things I never knew about myself and about how much a dog can enhance your life. We started a journey of discovery and growing together, with me learning how to train Murphy to be the best he can be. He taught me patience and brought such joy into my life - I continue to try to teach him a few things too!

Our story

I spent almost 20 years working in Human Resources, successfully leading People Teams within the retail and hospitality industries. I made the decision in 2024 to follow my heart and open a doggy daycare based at our home in Codicote. Knowing how difficult it can be to find great daycare for our beloved furry friends, I have created a fun, loving, safe space for dog owners to leave their best pal for the day.

Growing up in the North East of England, holidays as a child included my Aunt and Uncle with their black Labrador Barney. He was a staple part of my childhood and reached the grand old age of 15. I thought long and hard before bringing Murphy into our lives. He is a great source of fun, and every day is Christmas Day with Murphy in the house.

Wanting to learn more about what makes dogs tick, and how to help and support them, I have completed the Ofqual Level 3 Award in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare. I am also certified in Dog First Aid, Emergency Canine Care.

Along came Harry…

Why just have the fun of only one dog? In 2020 we adopted Harry the English Pointer. Harry is a great addition to the family and loves to cuddle up with Murphy. Harry is the younger brother Murphy never knew he wanted! He loves to go running with me on his Canicross harness - we both enjoy the exercise and chasing squirrels and pheasants (him more than me on the chasing wildlife!)
